Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Department of Trade and Industry reported that more products in the province will soon be available on a variety of online shopping platforms.

The statement came after the agency organized a Digital Marketing Forum on Friday, July 22, attended by 17 Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises owners who are OTOPreneurs – those assisted under the OTOP Next Generation (ONG) Program of the agency who expressed willingness to adapt e-commerce.

The forum is a part of the continuous assistance of the agency to capacitate MSMEs with skills that help them adapt to e-commerce to keep enterprises in today’s business game– mostly run by the digital world.

According to DTI Provincial Director Renie Ramos, digitization is now the trend in the business world and for MSMEs not to be left behind, they should learn how business works in the digital world.

“This is the trend and even if the Covid-19 pandemic will be over, e-commerce will prosper, form part of our daily lives and continue to reach all parts of the globe,” he added.

To further encourage them to go into e-commerce, the agency invited Princess Dapeg as the Resource Person - a caliber personality in the field of sales and marketing with ten years of work experience in working with various shopping malls in the country handling top brands throughout those years.

She is also one of the founders of Kalinga Pasalubong Products (KPP) – an enterprise that distributes local products thru various online shopping platforms like Shopee and FB Marketplace.
