Tabuk City, Kalinga – Out of the 155,095 individuals or the targeted 70 percent population of Kalinga, 35 percent were already immunized from COVID-19 as of Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

This is based on the data provided by the Provincial Health Office under its chief, Dr. Edward Tandingan.

As recorded, the municipality of Rizal has the greatest number of fully vaccinated individuals, hitting 47 percent of its target population of 12,425, which is followed by Pinukpuk having 8,804 fully immunized constituents or 38 percent of its target populace.

Pasil, on the other hand, has fully immunized 2,547 or 36 percent of its target, Lubuagan with 2,068 at 32 percent, Balbalan with 3,109 and Tabuk City with 28,234 or at 35 percent while Tanudan with 1,328 and Tinglayan with 1,808 are both at 19 percent.

With said vaccination rate, PHO is now encouraging unvaccinated adults to visit their nearest rural Health Units and be vaccinated. As of Thursday, the province has still over 5,000 doses of vaccines available.

Relative to this, the province has recently created a Vaccination Outreach Team to be led by PHO with members from the Philippine National Police, National Commission on Indigenous People, Provincial Governor's Office, and the Information Services.

Said team, as reported by the Provincial Governor’s Office-Information Services, is in charge of expediting vaccination efforts in the province to achieve herd immunity by the end of this month.

Also, said development is a measure to back the Department of Health’s vaccination campaign dubbed as “RESBAKUNA campaign”.

PHO has already targeted to jab around 2,688 individuals daily through municipal and city local government units to attain the said goal.

If able to reach the said target, 64,630 are expected to be fully vaccinated in Tabuk City, 18,498 in Pinukpuk, 8,477 in Rizal, 7,857 in Tinglayan, 6,264 in Balbalan, 5,776 in Tanudan, 4,932 in Pasil, and 4,524 in Lubuagan at the end of November.
