Kalinga records highest rating in DSWD service delivery assessment in Cordillera

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga continues to shine in various aspects.

Among the local government’s recent achievement was garnering the highest Service Delivery Capacity Assessment (SDCA) in Cordillera region after recording a 2.97 percent rating.

Kalinga Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office led by Governor James Edduba and PSWD Officer Rosemaritez Oyawon received special recognition from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera during the 72nd DSWD anniversary celebration at the Newtown Plaza Hotel, Baguio City on March 10, 2023.

Likewise, the regional department lauded the PSWDO for exceeding the minimal level of service delivery and demonstrating remarkable innovations and initiatives in the identified work areas of social services thus, upgrading the office to Level III in SDCA.

The score achieved by local social welfare and development in the assessment implies its effective service delivery capacity in the three major domains – administration and organization; program management; and institutional mechanism.

Other Kalinga LGUs awarded

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development of Balbalan under the leadership of Mayor Almar Malannag and MSWDO Myrna Canapi, along with Tinglayan MSWDO headed by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab and MSWDO Angeline Ando, was also conferred with the highest level awarded for LSWDOs – Level III.

In addition, the City Social Welfare and Development Office of Tabuk City was also recognized at the same level and was further nominated for the regional and national Paglaray Award, a recognition segment of the SWD Laws Online Monitoring aimed at recognizing the valuable contributions and persistent efforts of LGUs thru LSWDOs in supporting and promoting the monitoring of SWD Laws at the regional and local level.
