Kalinga's biggest RHU now 80 percent complete

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Tinglayanos will no longer have to experience the struggle of having to transport patients to other places, particularly those needing comprehensive and primary health care services, with the biggest rural health unit in Kalinga nearing its completion.

Mayor Sacrament Gumilab prioritizes in his administration the efficient delivery of basic services, of which, one of them is quality health services, thus the prioritization of erecting the edifice.

Funded by the Department of Health and the local government itself, amounting to P16 million, the construction started way back in 2021.

The local government of Tinglayan said the health facility is now 80 percent complete and is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2024.

“According to Engr. Denver Alngag, it is highly likely for the RHU building to be completely constructed and fully furnished by the end of 2024,” the local government said in a press release.

When fully furnished, the ground floor will be utilized for the facility’s laboratory, pharmacy, pre-natal, lobby and treatment area.

As for the second floor, it will serve as offices for medical personnel, which include doctors, nurses and midwives. An examination area will also be placed on said floor.

The third floor, meantime, will be used as a conference room.

In his previous statement, Gumilab said the health facility will not only cater to the medical needs of yTinglayan residents but will likewise assure employment of health workers in the municipality.

Apart from the RHU building, the five-story ‘Ummunnoyan’ Hospital will also soon be constructed in the municipality.

A P30 million initial funding through a loan from the provincial government during the administration of then governor Ferdinand Tubban was allotted for its erection and is now up for implementation.
