Kalinga's excellent public communication initiative recognized by the Presidential Communications Office

Tabuk City, Kalinga - In recognition of its excellent performance in effectively communicating with the public and engaging citizens in governance, the province of Kalinga received a commendation from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) during the recently conducted "Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko" in Pasay City.

 

The first-ever Parangal ceremony was held by the PCO on Monday, December 16, 2024, in its efforts to recognize the exemplary communications of government offices throughout the country.

 

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. graced the event and acknowledged the role of government communicators in enhancing public awareness and empowering citizens to engage in governance.

 

"The campaigns, the messages, and the voices we celebrate this evening remind us what leadership is capable of when there is a connection with the people," the President said during his speech.

 

According to the province's Information Office, Kalinga is the only one nominated for the award

In Northern Luzon and among the four nominees nationwide.

 

Kalinga was recognized in the Public Service Campaign—Provincial Level category for its initiative “Delivering Information with Integrity for Lumin-awa Kalinga.”

 

This initiative, which focuses on promoting transparency and effective communication between the government and its constituents, is spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Governor—Information and Communication Management System (OPG-ICMS).

 

The award, which highlights the province’s commitment to openness, good governance, and keeping its people informed, was received by Provincial Information Officer I Josiah Keith Bangisan and CMT Jaypee Songday, on behalf of OPG-ICMS head Dionica Alyssa Legasi.

 

With this honor, Kalinga continues to set a strong example for other provinces, demonstrating that clear and effective communication is a critical component of inclusive governance.
