Kalinga’s “State of the Art” Sports Complex under construction

Tabuk City, Kalinga - All eyes are on the ongoing structure and rehabilitation of the Kalinga Sports Complex as a hub for sports athletes and enthusiasts.


“This is going to be a state-of-the-art sports complex,” announced Dionica Alyssa Legasi as she updated the local media about the big preparation of the Sports Complex to be utilized as a venue for one of the main events of the Kalinga 28th Founding Aniversary and 4th Bodong Festival.

Legasi on January 27 shared the news in a Station 1 Radio interview saying that "the Kalinga Sports Complex will also serve as a sports facility and training ground for athletes" quite soon.


The Provincial Engineering Office has been commissioned to design the complex complete with international quality standard facilities especially for outdoor training activities and high-class amenities to suit every athlete’s needs and comfort.


“Some of the plans for the sports complex are running tracks to be rubberized, to have fences, to have a basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, training fields, and to have bathrooms and changing facilities w/ complete amenities for the athletes,” she mentioned.


According to Legasi, this is just one of the many plans of Governor James Edduba to boost the morale of the many athletes of the province and inspire more young people to achieve their full potential as they represent Kalinga in tournaments.

“Governor Edduba is also eyeing the best interest of Kalinga athletes hence Phase 1 of the training complex while we prep for its usage for our upcoming festival," Legasi informed.


"He is well aware that our athletes need the best training facilities, and this center will be an important hub for their development and the next generation. This is also open to everyone who is in sports, to exercise,” she said.


Legasi disclosed that Phase 2 of the project shall commence next year.
