Tabuk City, Kalinga – To help the victims of ‘Odette’ cope with the damages brought about by the typhoon, the provincial government unit of Kalinga, headed by Governor Ferdinand Tubban, donated financial aid amounting to P300,000.

The Provincial Governor’s Office-Information Services reports in a press release issued on January 20, 2021.

It said that Governor Tubban initiated the donation through the Local Finance Committee and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

The donation was transmitted in December 2021 to the Office of the Civil Defense-Cordillera for consolidation and will later be sent to the affected communities in Visayas and Mindanao.

Tubban, on his radio program, related that the fund provided to Typhoon ‘Odette’ victims was supposed to be used for the fireworks display last New Year, but the Management Committee (ManCom) he chaired decided to donate it for the victims instead.

“Daytoy ket pagyamanan tayo met lang ken ni Apo ta inlisi na datayo iti kalamidad ket aramiden tayo met laeng ti kabaelan ti tunggal maysa kadatayo tapnu iti kasta ket nakasagana tayo a manglasat nu man adda ti umay a didigra,” stated the governor.

According to the PGO-Information Services, their office received a letter from OCD recognizing and appreciating the help handed over by the province.
