Kalinga United Architects spearhead design of Heritage Museum and Cultural Center

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The members of the United Architects of the Philippines - Kalinga Chico River Chapter are set to design the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center.

The group will also work on the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Ground Master Plan.

Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, the proponent of both measures, announced this through his social media post on Tuesday, July 05, 2022.

The center, he said, shall serve as an institutional medium for the collection, preservation and enhancement of the cultural, artistic, archeological, social and religious heritage of the people of Kalinga.

In an interview by GURU Press Cordillera with UAP-Kalinga Chapter Charter President Michelle Furuya, she narrated about the plan for the project by the Office of the Congressman and how the chapter responded as part of their community service.

The chapter charter president disclosed they will first coordinate with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, National Museum of the Philippines, and other concerned agencies for the requirements before laying out the design for the museum.

Accordingly, Furuya was asked to finish the design as soon as possible for the earliest funding of the said project.

On behalf of the chapter, the president expressed gratitude to the Office of the Congressman for the opportunity to work with such a project for the province. This, she conveyed, is a chance for the architectural profession to be known in the locality.

“It’s a great opportunity for the Architects in our chapter to be recognized in our province and for them to be able to share their skills and specialization, at the same time to be known within the community nga adda metten gayam dagituy kakabsat, aannak nga Architects whom they can go to for their Architectural design needs,” Furuya added.

The UAP - Kalinga Chico River Chapter was formally founded on May 28, 2022 with 23 architect-members.
