Kennon Road temporarily closed due to rock fall incident

Baguio City, Philippines – Just days after its reopening, Kennon Road which is the fastest route to and from the City of Baguio via La Union is temporarily closed affective April 09, 2022 until further notice, due to a rock fall incident.


Joint Inter-Agency Task Force Kennon, through Memorandum No. 20, series of 2022 dated April 09, announced that the rock fall being monitored indicates the presence of landslide hazards or possible repeated rock fall/s in other parts of the national road.

All motorists who are non-residents of the area are advised to pass thru Marcos Highway, Baguio-Bauang Road (Naguilian Road) or Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual Road.


The Northeasterly Surface Windflow was said to be affecting the region bringing isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorm that caused the rock fall incident.
