Laborer in Isabela stabs brother to death after drinking session

Isabela, Philippines – Intoxication drove a man to kill his younger brother in Echague, Isabela over the weekend.

The victim identified as Jhune Damian Gumarac, 35, married and a laborer, had a drinking spree with his brother Felix, 46, also a laborer, in Barangay Annafunan.

After their session, a heated argument over an undisclosed reason erupted.

The suspect grabbed a knife, chased his younger brother, and stabbed him in his chest, a report from Echague police said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Felix, meanwhile, was taken into custody and may face charges as a consequence of what he did.

Just last week, a farmer in the same town was hacked to death by his fellow farmer.

The victim, Ronie Ganab from San Carlos, Echague, was having a morning coffee with his friend when the suspect Fernando Garcia suddenly arrived and hacked him on the face and neck. Garcia turned himself in to the authorities later that day.
