Late-night ride kills 2, severely injures another in Lallo, Cagayan

Lallo, Cagayan – A late-night scooter ride by three individuals became a tragedy following a road crash that killed two of them.

The accident transpired in Bicud, Lal-lo, Cagayan around 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 5.

The individuals came from a celebration and were about to go home that time when the tragedy transpired. They are all residents of Centro 3, Lasam, Cagayan.

While on their way, police, based on investigation, said the trio decided to stop by a convenience store.

However, while heading to the area, the driver lost control of the vehicle when they reached the curved portion of the road.

This caused the motorcycle to crash against a concrete barrier, throwing the victims into a vacant lot on the other side of the road.

Despite swift efforts to ferry the victims to Lasam District Hospital, the two were declared dead on arrival – the driver identified as Al Zailo Mendoza, and one of his back riders – Roosevelt Gerardo.

The condition of the other back rider is uncertain as of this writing, but a source said, he had already succumbed to his injuries while being treated in a health facility near the area.
