Lay-asan, Tanudan households learn to achieve gayunan and lanzones maximum yield

Tanudan, Kalinga – Households in Lay-asan who are beneficiaries of fruit and vegetable seeds from the Special Area for Agricultural Development Program have undergone orientation on how to achieve maximum production yield.


Tanudan Agriculturist II, Salvador Balicao, said that around 120 households in Lay-asan were given mother plant fruit and vegetable seeds, then through the Municipal Agriculture Office visiting the farm sites, the beneficiaries were taught to plant the seeds to ensure their full growth.


Said planting materials include lanzones and gayunan with eggplant, tomatoes, pechay, ‘patola’, and squash.

Balicao further said that the demonstration and orientation show the beneficiaries maximum utilization of lot with inter-cropping since the vegetable seeds given to them will be inter-cropped to the mother plant.

Meantime, beneficiaries of sitio Lay-asan Proper received their gayunan mother plant earlier and were already oriented on October 8, while those from sitios Magtoma and Nabalinan were given lanzones as the mother plant and had their training on October 15.
