LGU Luna, Apayao receives 1.2M health care equipment


Luna, Apayao – The local government of Luna Apayao has recently received from its Provincial Government 1.2 million worth of primary health care equipment to capacitate health workers in the municipality.


Governor Eleanor Bulut urged health workers to continue performing their role as health service providers using the various equipment turned over to them.


Among the equipment given to Luna LGU include 44 blood pressure monitor units, seven Salter weighing scale, five Detecto weighing scale, three height boards and an infantometer.

The turnover was held alongside the first day of the three-day capacity development and training workshop for 44 Barangay Health Workers (BHW) and 26 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in the municipality.



Bulut’s message to agencies in the province


Governor Bulut encouraged concerned agencies to adapt programs and projects necessary in generating significant impact that would help the provincial government in reducing, if not totally eradicating malnutrition incidence in Apayao.


With the equipment provided, nutrition scholars and health workers will have something to use in doing their work to manage malnutrition in children and afford other health care services to other groups.


Bulut also advised the Provincial Health Office, Rural Health Units and other local authorities to come up with necessary measures in solving issues related to emerging social and health-related nutrition issues such as teenage pregnancy.
