LGUs in Apayao are Seal of Good Local Governance awardees

Luna, Apayao - Four municipalities in the province of Apayao are set to receive the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) this year end.

The SGLG is a program implemented by the country’s DILG to honor local government units who adhere to various areas of services.

These include financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace, and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture, and arts; and youth development.

Additionally, the award aims to encourage LGUs to strive for progress and further improve their performance.

On Monday, December 4, 2023, the DILG - Cordillera announced that the municipalities of Santa Marcela, Luna, Pudtol, and Conner made it to the list of this year's passers.

They are among the 23 LGUs from the Cordillera region who qualified for the prestigious award.

An awarding ceremony will be held on December 13 -14 with a total of 493 LGU passers nationwide to be recognized.
