Lito Adiwang beats Thai-Aussie fighter at One Fight Night 19

Tabuk City, Kalinga –  A Cordilleran veteran warrior, dubbed “Thunder Kid” from Baguio City, has once again etched his name in the annals of MMA glory, emerging triumphant from a tremendous fight against “Mini T” on the undercard of One Fight Night 19: Haggerty vs Lobo at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

ONE Championship is one of the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organizations globally, promoting ONE Night Fight series featuring an exciting lineup of MMA fights among talented athletes from around the world.

A week before the battle, Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang proclaimed his determination to secure a spot among the strawweight division’s top five contenders by clinching victory against Danial “Mini T” Williams.

On February 17, Adiwang achieved this feat by extending his winning streak to three rounds, following a unanimous decision victory over Williams.

In the opening round of the bout, both fighters showcased flashy techniques, yet Adiwang asserted dominance by landing strong knockout blows and took control by launching methodical attacks.

During the second round, the fighters once again traded strikes. Williams exhibited leg kicks and a more calculated offensive approach. Meanwhile, Adiwang sought opportunities to counter explosive punches with his right hand, preventing Williams' attempts to land damaging counter shots.

In the third and final round, Adiwang maintained his dominance over Williams by asserting his superior grappling skills on the mat. However, Williams managed to regain his footing in the last minute and successfully landed a knee strike.

But in the end, Thunder Kid earned nods from all three judges, thereby declaring him the victor in the said league.

This triumph stands as a testament to his enduring perseverance through financial challenges in his younger days and his dedication to boxing, which later evolved into a deeper exploration of martial arts.

Now known as Thunder Kid, he has showcased his skills in a wide array of disciplines, including Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wushu Sanda.

Throughout his journey, he has secured numerous regional medals and achieved the title of two-time Philippine National Wushu champion. In 2019, he reached a significant milestone by earning a spot on the main roster of the world’s largest martial arts organization.

In a brief yet deeply meaningful gesture, he and his team shared their gratitude in a Facebook post, stating, “Thrilled to kick off 2024 with a big win! The momentum continues, and I'm eager to see where this journey takes us.”
