Long-awaited Tanudan Municipal Hospital building begins construction

Tanudan, Kalinga – The dream of having a more equipped hospital in Tanudan is now becoming a reality after the groundbreaking ceremony of Tanudan Municipal Hospital at Sitio Banagao, Poblacion on August 08, 2023.

Said new and improved medical facility is a 25-bed capacity that will be erected a few meters away from the old building at Banagao.

The building’s foundation will be laid through the P5.5 million allocated fund by the Department of Health. The building’s initial structure, on the other hand, will be covered by the P40 million share of the Tanudan Local Government Unit from the 999-M loan of the Kalinga provincial government.

The groundbreaking was attended by officials in the province headed by Governor James Edduba, Tanudan leaders, and employees led by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, the barangays, and national line agencies.

In his message, Vice Governor Jocel Baac called on municipal officials to monitor the construction to ensure a well-laid foundation and structure.

“Haan met nga diay pinang-istrikto nu di ket panangkita laeng nga ustu diay maaramid,” he explained, adding that the yTanudans had been waiting for years to have the facility in the municipality which is why it has to be constructed properly.

The vice governor vowed that the officialdom of Kalinga will continue to support the project by looking for more funding for the building’s completion saying, “i-commit mi nu adda mabalin nga kwarta iti probinsiya nu kaspagarigan malpas tu diay 40 million.”
