Lubuagan, Kalinga—Lubuagan has recently been classified under a low-risk code, which means some restrictions are loosened for people to have more elbow room in going about their work and daily activities, but the LGU reiterates that the implementation of minimum health protocols in the municipality is still strictly implemented.

Philippine National Police Lubuagan, tasked to enforce and implement Ordinance No. 08 series of 2020, mandating the wearing of face masks and face shields while in the workplace, public transportation, and public places, said that overall, the people of Lubuagan are obedient to regulations.

The police said there were only 130 violators caught since the start of the pandemic last year, a lower number compared to other places.

Violators of the ordinance are required to pay P50 for the first offense; P100 for the second; P150 for the third; and P300 for subsequent offenses.

Meantime, Mayor Charisma Ann Dickpus said that even restrictions are loosened, the wearing of face masks is still compulsory, saying the people still have to keep their guards up specially with the threat of Delta variant.

Delta is said to be more transmissible and bring a higher risk of hospitalizations.

"As long as the virus is still around, Lubuagan is still making the wearing of mask and other minimum health standard compulsory like it has always been since last March. Kasi panpanunuten tayo nga kasla awanen ta medyo nalukayan ti restriction, karkaru ta adda diay Delta variant nga kunada nga napigpigsa. Saan tayo nga ikarkararag ngem we have to anticipate latta the unexpected," she said.
