Lubuagan involves public in tracing missing links in its history

Lubuagan, Kalinga – In its pursuit to complete the missing links of its historical timeline, the Local Government Unit of Lubuagan sought the public’s help and participation in the ongoing research on the history of the municipality.

Lubuagan is rich in historical events as it was once the capital of the Sub-province of Kalinga in 1908. It became the center for 86 years, 2 months, and 20 days before Tabuk became again the center of the Province of Kalinga-Apayao.

While there are pieces of information about the History of Lubuagan, Tourism Officer Ansherina Odiem-Mosing said there are still missing links in the timeline. For this reason, they continue to gather facts.

Mosing said that one of the things they want to complete includes the earliest period of the formal government system established in Lubuagan, the period when the municipality was classified as a 'municipal district' from the time it was declared a 'settlement', and other missing data.

Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus appealed to those who have knowledge of Lubuagan History to supply the local government unit with the needed facts which are not included in the current information about the timeline of the municipality.
