Luna, Apayao – The number one top drug target list of Luna Police Office was arrested after claiming a parcel including suspected shabu sent through a courier company in Abulug, Cagayan, on Saturday evening of August 14.
Police Regional Office II – Regional Public Information Office reported that the target Elbert Racacho Balicat alias "Ebbet" from San Jose, Luna, was nabbed after the Abulug Police received a tip at around 6:40 in the evening about the shipped parcel.
The informant tipped that “Ebbet” who was wearing a green t-shirt and white shorts was going to pick up a parcel containing the contraband through a courier company in Libertad, Abulug.
The police then proceeded to the pickup point where they saw the suspect as the tipster described carrying a parcel and was already waiting for a ride at the national highway.
When the personnel approached to ask his identity, he confirmed that he is “Ebbet”, prompting the police to inquire about the parcel. The suspect handed it to the police and with the assistance of a k-9 unit, three pieces of sachets containing suspected shabu were discovered inside. Apart from these, another piece of sachet with the same substance was found from the suspect’s phone.
The illegal drugs confiscated were estimated to have a total weight of 10 grams.
Balicat is now charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meantime, the police are investigating the source and how the illegal substance was shipped.
