Luna LGU promises cash reward to their winning athletes in CARAA and Palarong Pambansa

Luna, Apayao - Winning athletes of Luna, Apayao participating in the upcoming Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) and Palarong Pambansa have something to work hard for as Luna LGU promised them cash rewards of up to 10,000 pesos.

 

The initiative is in line with Municipal Ordinance No. 465, enacted by the Sangguniang Bayan Luna in 2022, titled "Sports Excellence Rewards Program of the Municipality of Luna, Apayao."

 

According to Section 6 of the ordinance, winning athletes will receive cash incentives for their achievements in various sports events. For individual events at the CARAA meet, gold medalists will receive P3,000, silver medalists P2,000, and bronze medalists P1,000. Meanwhile, at the Palarong Pambansa, gold medalists will be awarded P4,000, silver medalists P3,000, and bronze medalists P2,000.


In team events, the rewards are even more substantial. CARAA team event gold medalists will receive P10,000, silver medalists P8,000, and bronze medalists P7,000. For Palarong Pambansa team event winners, gold medalists will be awarded P15,000, silver medalists P12,000, and bronze medalists P10,000.

 

“Through its enactment, Municipal Ordinance No. 465, S. 2022 symbolizes the collective commitment to nurturing talent, fostering dreams, and celebrating the triumphs of the local athletes,” announced SBO Luna on its Facebook page.

 

This initiative by the LGU Luna recognizes the hard work and dedication of its athletes and likewise serves as a motivation for them to continue striving for excellence in their respective sports disciplines.

 

Mayor Josephine Bangsil encouraged all the young athletes to give their best and bring honor to the municipality. Bangsil is a staunch supporter of sports and youth initiatives.
