Salvacion, Luna brighter and safer with solar-powered street lights

Luna, Apayao – Motorists and the community of Luna now enjoy passing through a well-lit road in Barangay Salvacion through the initiative of the Luna Municipal Local Government Unit.

The LGU headed by Mayor Josephine Bangsil installed 14 units of solar-powered lights at the area last quarter of 2023. The funding for the project was taken from the 20% development fund of the MLGU.

As relayed by Luna Tourism Officer, Terence Grande, the area used to be too dark and that it is away from the households.

“Talaga nga nasipnget idiay ti rabii tapus kurbadaan pay. Kaasi dagitay empleyado nga mapan agtrabaho nga ag-night shift kasta met ken dagitay negosyante ti saba ken daduma pay nga prutas nga nasapa nga agluas iti parbangon,” he said.

For this reason, the LGU, in its commitment to sustaining the peace and order in the municipality, allotted some budget for the purchase of street lights to ensure the safety of the people passing by the road especially those who work on a night shift.
