Magalong is 4th Top Performing City Mayors in Philippines in 2022


Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong secured the fourth rank of the top performing local chief executives in the Philippines by the RP - Mission and Development Foundation Inc.


The RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) is an independent and non-commissioned national performance evaluation that aims to provide a continuous stream of accurate data and insights into what the world thinks. The ultimate objective is for companies, governments, and institutions to operate proactively to better serve the people in the communities that is sustainable.

Following the conclusion of a thorough national evaluation of the country's top government and cabinet officials, the RPMD has completed its nationwide performance assessment for the year 2022 of all Mayors, Governors, and members of the House of Representatives in terms of their overall performance.


Mayor Magalong achieved an 86 percent approval rating, placing him fourth out of 146 city mayors in the country.


Evaluation survey


The evaluation survey for the top-performing officials in the country was conducted from November 27 to December 2, 2022.

The ratings and rankings are the results of careful assessment, based on work output.


Random selection was used to select respondents, and the distribution of respondents was proportional to the number of registered voters in each location.


Among the 65.75 million registered voters, 10,000 respondents were chosen by RPMD. The sample has a 95 percent degree of confidence level and an error margin of plus-or-minus 1%.


Meanwhile, Governor Melchor Diclas of Benguet ranked 15th for top-performing governors while Congressman Eric Yap of the same province ranked 7th for district representatives.
