Baguio City, Philippines – As the Baguio City’s Panagbenga Festival draws near, scammers are also reported to draw near business people wanting to get slots in some of the festival’s events, promising them the fastest way in obtaining said slots.

Events mentioned by the City Information Office requiring slots include the Market Encounter and Session Road in Bloom activities of the Baguio Flower Festival.

In response to said issue, Mayor Benjamin Magalong told public not to transact with these ‘unscrupulous people to avoid being victimized’.

Those interested to join any activities during the festival are instructed to only transact with the event’s secretariat.

They can be contacted through - 074 442-4315 or 09619626688 and at their email - secretariat@panagbengaflowerfestival.com .

PIO Baguio relayed that for the Market Encounter event, the contact person is Marivel Chagwaten while Malu Galiste is in charge with the Session Road in Bloom.

Aside from event scams, the mayor has earlier warned the public regarding rental house scammers.

“There are many scammers but we continue to notify the public, and we continue to give advisories that they should carefully look at Facebook posts,” Magalong was quoted saying.

Panagbenga festival’s opening will be on February 1, 2023.

This time, it will return on full blast, as Magalong emphasized.
