Updated: Aug 8

Santiago City, Isabela – A father’s duty should be protecting his children from harm but for a man in Isabela, he became the source of trauma to his daughter.

A 34-year-old man was recently charged with rape after sexually molesting his daughter. Said man, whose name is withheld by the police, is a resident of Barangay Villa Gonzaga, Santiago City.

According to police reports, a warrant of arrest was issued against the accused by Judge Nicasio Bautista of the Regional Trial Court, Second Judicial Region, Branch 21, Santiago City after it was proven that he raped his minor daughter.

The man evaded the arrest and hid from the authorities for some time. Nevertheless, he was later arrested after he sold marijuana during the buy-bust operation conducted by the Santiago PNP last week of July 2024.

The suspect was charged with violating Republic Act 8353 or the anti-rape law of 1997 and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

He is now at a custodial facility in Isabela.
