Man charged with frustrated homicide for stabbing student in Baguio

Baguio City, Philippines - A 22-year-old man in Baguio City was charged with frustrated homicide after stabbing a 17-year-old student on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.


The suspect was identified as Adam Floyd Acupan Maganis, a native of San Fernando La Union, unemployed and currently residing in the city.

According to the police, as reported by the Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation, Maganis and his group attacked the victim at Bonifacio Street.


The minor victim sustained multiple wounds in his body from Maganis who allegedly stabbed him with a sharp object. He was confined at a hospital in Baguio City.


After inquest proceedings, the accused will be transferred to the Baguio City Jail Male Dorm.


Meanwhile, the latest data from the Baguio City Police Office showed that there were 151 cases of index crimes in Baguio from January to August this year, of which, 71 were physical injuries.


Said figures are lower compared to the data in 2019.
