Man dies in hit and run accident in Cagayan; killer car’s plate number left behind

Abulug, Cagayan – A construction worker was killed following a hit-and-run incident that transpired around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7 on Lucban Bridge, Lucban, Abulug, Cagayan.


The victim who was onboard a motorcycle was tailing the motorcycle driven by another companion with a pillion passenger before the accident.


The two vehicles were going to Sitio Bannag, Sta. Rosa, Abulug. When they reached the bridge, one of the motorcycles was hit by a car.


The co-workers of the victim narrated they heard a crash. When they stopped and looked back, they saw their companion Roland Supnet already lying on the road, five meters away from the motorcycle.


Initial facts showed that the victim was a resident of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, and was only at the area to work. He was ferried to a medical facility in Luna, Apayao but was declared dead on arrival.


According to witnesses, the car did not stop to check on the victim. Due to the impact of the crash, the car’s plate number was torn off the vehicle and fell on the road.


Abulug police said, based on their investigation, the victim’s motorcycle toppled before he was hit by the car.


Abulug police are now looking for the driver and are yet to confirm whether the car’s owner was the one who was driving the vehicle at that time.
