Man found dead in Sto. Niňo, Cagayan after campaign rally

Cagayan, Philippines – There was no sign of life detected from a body found at the side of a creek in Lipatan, Sto. Niño, Cagayan on Friday night, April 25, 2025.

 

The victim, according to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, was identified as Jayson Cacal, a resident of Centro Norte of the same town. He was allegedly last seen intoxicated and attending a campaign rally. He was described as having drunk from a celebration before going to the political activity.

 

The man, as narrated by some people, was seen leaving the event aboard a motorcycle. However, no one could identify the driver.

 

It was around 11:00 p.m. on April 25 when the victim was discovered by a concerned citizen lying lifeless at the side of a creek. Authorities who responded to the incident found a gunshot wound on the victim’s body.

 

Police investigators were already dispatched to probe into the incident.
