Amulung, Cagayan – Four days after he drowned while catching eels at the Bintacan River, the lifeless body of a 35-year-old man from Isabela was finally discovered.

Authorities found the cadaver of a certain Leomar Fenix, a resident of Sta. Isabel Sur, Ilagan City, floating at the Cagayan River in Anquiray, Amulung on Wednesday, August 30.

When located, Fenix was described by Task Force Lingkod Cagayan (TFLC) Amulung station as a man in his 40s wearing a green long-sleeve shirt and having no underpants.

The discovery of said cadaver was immediately coordinated with the concerned authorities.

Said description hastened the identification of the victim who was positively recognized by his wife.

As relayed to authorities, Fenix, along with his brother and nephew, went to catch eels at the Bintacan River in Ilagan, Isabela, on August 26.

While crossing, he was suddenly swept away by the strong current of the river where he drowned.

Typhoon Goring had already unleashed heavy rains and strong winds at that time which may have caused the incident.
