Man hacks fellow farmer to death in Isabela


Isabela, Philippines – A farmer died of hack wounds following an altercation with his fellow farmer on Wednesday evening, Sept. 20 in Danipa, Benito Soliven, Isabela.


As per police accounts, the hacking happened when Fernando Quilang, 45, a resident of Libertad, San Mariano went to collect his wage from the suspect, Rey Bumanglag, 25, a resident of Danipa.

The supposed wage was Quilang’s compensation for harvesting bananas owned by Bumanglag.


As the suspect gave the amount, the two allegedly had a heated argument wherein the victim, Quilang was said to have attacked the suspect first and the latter retaliated by hacking him several times.


The victim sustained serious wounds, particularly on his nape that led to his death.


The suspect, on the other hand, was described to have submitted himself to authorities who responded to the crime scene. He will be facing a murder charge.
