Man in Baggao, Cagayan arrested for raping 11-year-old daughter

Cagayan, Philippines – A man in Baggao was arrested after being accused of raping his own 11-year-old daughter, the Police Regional Office 2 reported.

The suspect’s arrest warrant was served by the authorities on June 9, 2022 in Sitio Mansarong, Barangay Sta. Margarita in the Municipality of Baggao.

According to the police, the 50-year-old suspect sexually assaulted his daughter on March 15, 2021. The suspect and the victim are said to be the only ones living in their house since the victim’s mother passed away.

On the evening of March 15, the victim was sleeping when she allegedly felt her father touching her thigh before he forced himself to her. The girl was fearful of what might happen and kept the event untold. When she got the chance, she revealed the incident to her aunt, which was reported to the authorities on August 4, 2021, almost five months later.

A year since the incident, the suspect’s arrest warrant was released and was served. During the arrest, the suspect allegedly resisted arrest and attacked one of the authorities with his ‘tabas’.

This forced the police officer to shoot him on his left butt. He was rushed to the Baggao District Hospital but was eventually released after being treated.

The suspect is listed as Top 7 Most Wanted Person in the Cagayan Valley region and was charged with Rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
