Man in Isabela kills drunkard son

Isabela, Philippines – A father in Barangay Cullalabo Norte, Burgos, Isabela hacked his son to death on Saturday, October 22, reported Burgos police.

Burgos Police Station, through 92.9 Brigada News Cauayan City, identified the victim as Romeo Balubar Jr., 47, a resident of said area.

The victim’s father and suspect, Romeo Balubar Sr., 75, was immediately arrested by the authorities.

He confessed he was enraged by his son’s habitual drunkenness. When drunk, the victim is said to have always caused trouble and was incessantly asking for money from the elder Balubar. These triggered the suspect to hack his own son.

The younger Balubar sustained wounds on his head and other parts of his body that resulted in his immediate death.

The police recovered at the crime scene the bolo used in hacking the victim.

The elder Balubar is now in the custody of the Burgos Police Station while authorities await the decision of his other child if they push through with the filing of a parricide case against him.
