Man in Tabuk City shot dead in broad daylight

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 23-year-old man was shot dead along the provincial road in Barangay Cabaruan, Tabuk City, by two unidentified assailants this morning of September 28, 2021.


The victim was identified by the police as a certain Ryan Christopher Subac, Micro Finance Officer of ASA Philippines based in Bulanao and a native of Gonzaga, Cagayan.


Based on the initial investigation of the Tabuk City Police Station, Subac went to Sucbot to collect money from their company’s borrowers. After which, he immediately drove his motorcycle back to Dagupan Centro.

However, when he was travelling the provincial road in Purok 3, Barangay Cabaruan around 10 o’clock in the morning, two unidentified individuals shot him in the chest.


Subac lost control of his motorcycle and fell to the rice field just beside the road.


The assailants took his backpack.

When responding personnel arrived at the area, they saw the victim in a prone position with blood dripping from his chest. They rushed him to Kalinga Provincial Hospital; unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.


Meanwhile, personnel of the Kalinga Provincial Crime Laboratory Office recovered 4 fired cartridge casings of Caliber 45 at the crime scene.


The police are now looking for the suspects who were said to have escaped the area on foot.
