Man just went fishing in Cagayan River, came home no more

Cagayan, Philippines – A middle-aged man on August 4 was seen by his fellow fishermen in the Cagayan River in Lallo, Cagayan trying to catch enough fish for the day and was offered a boat ride, but he refused the offer.

 

Night came that Sunday, but the man never came home. The man drowned.

 

Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office – Lal-lo via Cagayan Information Office - identified the drowning victim as Rolando Ramos.

 

According to the narrative obtained, Ramos went fishing with some other fishermen, and after getting enough, he told his companions that he was going home.

 

Unfortunately, the victim did not come home, prompting his family to seek assistance from the authorities.

 

A search and rescue operation was launched and they found Ramos’s lifeless body in Barangay Catugan, Lal-lo Monday morning, August 05.

 

The body was turned over to his family.

 

Authorities, meantime, continue to investigate the incident.
