Man possibly behind carpenter’s death in Hingyon, Ifugao under police custody

Hingyon, Ifugao – The person of interest in the death of the 44-year-old carpenter in Umalbong, Hingyon is now in the custody of Hingyon Municipal Police Station.

In his interview with Bombo Radyo Baguio on Monday, May 23, PLT Benjamin Gotchia, OIC of Hingyon Municipal Police Station, disclosed that Ricky Indopia – the person of interest is one of the companions of the victim during their drinking session and was the last one seen with the victim.

At the crime scene, Gotchia said that they were able to recover a bolo which is believed to have been used in the killing of Alfonso Oyyoy Humiding, the victim.

As recalled, Humiding was found lifeless at his own residence early morning of Monday, May 23.

Hingyon Municipal Police Station said that they responded to a call by the barangay captain in the said area at around 4:40 AM reporting the incident.

In their interview with the wife of the victim, the wife narrated that Humiding, along with a certain Jerry Munyoba and Ricky Indopia, had their drinking session on Sunday afternoon just in front of their old residence.

At 3:45 AM, the victim’s wife came out of their newly constructed house and was about to give a blanket to her husband but discovered the lifeless body of Humiding lying on the floor and covered with blood.

The wife added that his husband has a cut on his neck, which could be the reason for his death.

At present, an investigation is ongoing to determine the motive of the crime.
