Man in Baguio repeatedly raped minor stepdaughter

Baguio City, Philippines – For a year, a minor suffered sexual violence at the hands of her stepfather.

Data from the Philippine National Police showed that 1,080 rape cases were reported in the country for the first quarter of the year.

In 2022, at least 22 cases of sexual assault a day were monitored in the Philippines.

Among the victims of sexual assault is a minor from Baguio City who endured gruesome attacks from her stepdad from 2021-2023.

Marcos Highway Police Station in Baguio City, as cited by the Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation, wrote in a report that the victim whose name was withheld was molested first by the accused in 2021. The suspect started raping her in 2022 until this year.

The minor who was terrified of the suspect because he has a gun tried telling her mother about her ordeal. Her mom, however, didn’t believe her right away.

The stepfather who is still at large as of this writing was already charged for rape before the Baguio City Prosecutors Office.
