Man stabbed by drinking buddy in Tuao, Cagayan

Tuao, Cagayan – A man died after his drinking buddy stabbed him over the weekend in Battung, Tuao, Cagayan.

Police identified the victim as ‘Alyas Joseph' and his case is being treated as a homicide.

The suspect, named ‘Alyas Fernando’, 29, a resident of the area, was already arrested and is in police custody under investigation.

Police disclosed that the suspect admitted he committed the heinous crime.

Prior to the stabbing incident, the two were drinking together when an argument between them started. A fistfight followed shortly.

Things escalated when the suspect armed himself with a knife and stabbed the victim on the left elbow.

The victim was rescued and ferried to a nearby hospital, but died later.

With the incident, authorities reminded the public to drink moderately when consuming alcoholic beverages to avoid such incidents happening again.
