Man who drowned 9 days ago in Iguig river still not found


Iguig, Cagayan - A 37-year-old man who reportedly drowned in a river in Barangay Ajat, Iguig last week is still being searched by authorities.

 

It has been nine days since he went missing after he allegedly dove into the waters while at the area.

 

According to witnesses, the victim, along with his family, headed to the river on January 9, as conveyed by the Iguig Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, when the incident transpired.


While an immediate search and retrieval operation was made by the office after being notified of the incident, their week-long efforts to find his body yielded negative results.

 

As relayed by the office, the victim, Philip Ramirez Quizzagan, married, was a resident of Barangay Callao, Peñablanca.

 

Assisting MDRRMO Iguig in their efforts to find him are the Task Force Lingkod Cagayan (TFLC), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Iguig, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and barangay officials in the area.
