Man who stabbed teen daughter to death in Tuguegarao caught in Nueva Ecija

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The 34-year-old father who stabbed his daughter to death in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan is now in the custody of Tuguegarao police.

The man will be facing parricide charges, authorities said.

The suspect - a security guard - fled to Nueva Ecija after committing the crime on Wednesday evening, July 24.

While in Nueva Ecija, an informant told Caranglan police the whereabouts of the suspect.

This prompted them to proceed at the area to catch the man. When they arrived there, the suspect voluntarily went with the police as he was surrendered by his sibling.

The suspect admitted to police the crime he committed, reasoning that he had a quarrel with his wife who is an OFW in Taiwan before doing the heinous crime.

Due to the argument, he vented his fire to her daughter when he got home from work.

The victim, Yeshaya Kate Abana Ballad, 16, was then at her grandfather’s house when her father was looking for her.

The victim immediately came home but minutes later, she was heard by neighbors shouting.

The victim’s grandfather and their neighbors came to her aid but were shocked seeing that the victim was already bathing with her own blood while being choked by her father.

She was later ferried to a hospital in the city but was declared dead on arrival due to sustained stab wounds.
