Man requests police clearance, ends up behind bars

Baggao, Cagayan – A 48-year-old man who visited Baggao Municipal Police Station to obtain a police clearance ended up in jail after police discovered he had a pending criminal case filed against him in 2013.

The suspect, whose name was withheld, is a resident of Baggao, Cagayan. He was arrested on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023.

According to the police, they immediately arrested the suspect after a check on the police database showed that he has an outstanding arrest warrant dated Feb. 6, 2013.

The accused has a pending arrest warrant issued by Hon. Bill D. Buyucan, MCTC Judge of Bagabag-Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya, for charges of reckless imprudence and negligence resulting in double homicide and serious physical injuries.

The case has a recommended bail of P60,000.

The suspect is currently detained at the Baggao Police Station’s detention facility.
