Baguio City, Philippines – The nine-day “Mandeko Kito” (Ibaloi for Let’s Sell) launched as part of Ibagiw Creative Festival 2022 raked in P1 million in sales, says Baguio Arts and Crafts Collective, Incorporated (BACCI) Executive Director Alvin Molintas through a local media.

The “Mandeko Kito” trade fair served as a platform for local artisans to showcase and sell their works. It was initiated by BACCI, an association of creatives formed upon the declaration of the city as the United Nations Education Scientific Culture Organization (UNESCO) Creative City for Crafts and Folk Arts in 2017.

The exhibition run from November 12 to 20 at Saint Louis School (Center) grounds, with 50 participating brands from the city and the various provinces in the Cordillera region.

According to Molintas, the networking of sellers and consumers improved their marketing strategy which resulted in the success of the event.

Many buyers, he said, ordered the products displayed such as tapestry, wood and crafts, and foods, among others.

The executive director hopes that the trade fair will again be conducted next year, particularly during the month-long Panagbenga Festival.

“Thank you very much to everyone that came to support our local artists and artisans in the just concluded Mandeko Kito. See you again soon at the next fair,” expressed Baguio City Creative on its social media page.
