Manhunt against mastermind behind the killing of Abra teacher underway

Bangued, Abra – Police authorities are now hunting the alleged mastermind of the killing of a transgender high school teacher in Bangued, Abra, following the release of a warrant of arrest against the suspect, Abra TV relayed Friday, November 18.

Rudy Steward Sayen, a public secondary teacher at Suyo National High School, was shot dead in the capital town of Abra last September 28.

The investigation said he was tailed by the hired killers on board a motorcycle while he was on his way to work.

When the killers had the opportunity, one of them hit his motorcycle, while the other shot him in the back and behind the ears.

Four suspects who were earlier arrested by the police admitted they were paid P100,000 to kill Sayen and that a land dispute was the motive of the crime.

The four suspects include Romel Paa – the gunman, Sonny Boy Tullas – the one who drove the motorcycle, Aldrin Alagao- the lookout and Abelardo Talape – the middleman.

Regional Trial Court Branch 2 Judge Corpuz Alzate later issued the arrest warrant with no bail recommended against Mike Armando Wilson, the victim’s relative, who was identified by the hired killers as the mastermind of the killing.
