Manhunt operation launched for 2 hold-uppers in Baguio City

Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City Police launched a manhunt operation for the capture of two hold-uppers caught by the video surveillance, around 11:10 PM of March 17, 2022 while robbing their victim along Honeymoon Road, Baguio City.

Baguio City Police Office - Aurora Hill, in a press release, disclosed the incident was only reported to their office on Saturday, March 19.

Police Lieutenant Colonel, Judy Jasmin Ofo-ob Palicos, BCPO Information Officer narrated through Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation – MPBC that a 23-year-old victim was walking home from a visit to a friend when the suspects suddenly appeared and pointed a bladed weapon.

The suspects immediately left after forcibly taking the victim’s phone worth P17,000.

Palicos belied the news circulation online that the victim was molested, saying “wala naman pong molestation na nangyari sa nareport sa Police Station 6 – Aurora Hill.”

“…from the Station Commander of Station 6 is meron na daw silang lead kasi napa-enhance na nila yung CCTV footages and hopefully, makuha nila o ma-identify nila yung mga suspects,” the BCPO Information Officer added.

Meanwhile, Regional News Group – RNG Luzon reported the data of the barangay showing that the latest robbery-hold up is already the second incident.

Barangay Kagawad Romeo Sinlao of Purok 6, Honeymoon - Holy Ghost said the first case might have been done by the same suspects.

BCPO Aurora Hill appealed to those who know the identity of the suspects to report to their office or through 09985987752.

“Makakaasa po kayo na lahat po ng magbibigay ng impormasyon hinggil sa kanila ay ituturing po naming nang may lubos na pagiging kumpidensyal,” the office stated.

Palicos advised the public to check on their friends or family if they arrive safely to their destination whenever going out.

Also, Palicos stressed the importance of noting the hotline numbers of police stations near them for immediate response in cases of emergency.
