P.4M Marijuana discovered at a Tabuk van terminal

Tabuk City, Kalinga — Suspected marijuana bound to Manila and Baguio were discovered at a van terminal after the driver doubted the content of two boxes which were said to be ‘fragile’.


The contrabands were recovered by the police past 6 o’clock in the evening on December 18, in Bulanao Norte.


The alleged marijuana was placed in two different cartons with a ‘fragile’ warning and that they were supposed to be sent to Manila and Baguio. However, the driver doubted the content of the boxes, especially the one which was to be sent to Manila.

The driver said he had a bad feeling about it, questioning how come it is ‘fragile’ when the sender which is yet to be identified by the police claimed they are just diapers. This prompted them to inspect the boxes and when they did, it was then they called the attention of the police because of suspicious content.


Upon receipt of the call, the police proceeded to the area and inspected the two cartons when the drug-sniffing dog signified there is contraband inside. 4 pieces of transparent zip-lock containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and stalks worth P480,000 were found.

Moreover, the operatives also recovered another suspected dried marijuana worth P6,000 from the other box which was bound to Baguio. Apart from this, there were also cookies inside.


Confiscated items were inventoried with the presence of witnesses before they were brought to Tabuk City Police Station.
