MARRY ME: More people in Kalinga got married in 2024

Tabuk City, Kalinga – An increase of 24.88% in marriages was observed in Kalinga in 2024, with Tabuk City listing the highest number of couples tying the knot.

 

According to the data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, Kalinga registered 1,250 marriages in 2024, marking an increase of 249 cases compared to the 1,001 marriages registered in 2023.

 

Of the total marriages, Tabuk City listed the highest with 818 registries, accounting for 65.44% of the data.

 

Second in the list was the Municipality of Pinukpuk with 116 (9.28%), followed by Rizal with 86 (6.88%), Tinglayan with 62 (4.96%), Lubuagan with 53 (4.24%), Balbalan with 48 (3.84%), Pasil with 45 (3.60%), and Tanudan with 22 (1.76%).

 

As for the Crude Marriage Rate (CMR) in the province for 2024, it was at 5%, indicating that there were 5 marriages for every 1,000 individuals in the province.

 

Tabuk City and Lubuagan both recorded the highest CMR with 7% and 6%, respectively. Following closely is the town of Tinglayan with 5% CMR rate, then Balbalan, Pasil, and Rizal with 4% CMR rate each, while Tanudan and Pinukpuk posted the lowest CMR of 3%.

 

In terms of monthly marriage registries, January recorded the highest number with 139 marriages, averaging to 5 daily. October followed closely with 118, then November with 114. Other notable months include April with 111, February with 110, July and September with 105 each, May with 100, June with 98, March with 89, and December with 82.
