Mayor Dagadag pledges continuous aid to PWDs in Tanudan, Kalinga

Updated: Dec 24, 2022

Tanudan, Kalinga – Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag vowed to continuously provide support to Persons with Disability in Tanudan, Kalinga, assuring that they will not be left behind as the municipality progresses.

Dagadag has made it one of his advocacies to involve PWDs in the development of the town, through the provision of aid and other programs capacitating those with disabilities who are able to work.

The statement was conveyed by Mayor Dagadag during the awarding of prosthetic legs to five individuals with mobility impairments in Tanudan on December 20. These artificial limbs were sponsored by the Tanudan Local Government Unit.

The mayor guaranteed the program will continue and will be sustained until those needing such aid are given.

Dagadag encouraged the PWDs who lost their legs to carry on with life, particularly now that they have the chance to walk again with a walking aid.

“Haan kayo nga agpasugnod nu anya man iti naited iti Apo, at least ket mabaliwan met tatta. Pumaspas kayo met nga magna, pumaspas kayo met nga tumaray, makatrabaho kayo met lang kasla iti normal nga ar-aramiden yu idi mayat pay lang iti parten iti bagi. Inaldaw tayo latta nga agkararag ta diay iti importante,” he conveyed.

Apart from prosthetic legs, Dagadag also mentioned that he will continue his free wheelchair program using his personal resources.

The free wheelchair program aims to grant requests for elderlies and PWDs in Tanudan who can’t sit and stand to ease the burden of their caretakers.

“Uray nu kastoy nga bassit iti munisipyo mi, one of the poorest municipalities, ngem daytoy puso mi kadagiti legislators tayo ken dagitoy empleyado ket para iti kakailyan tayo,” he stressed.
