Tanudan, Kalinga – Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag commits continuous support to the Bureau of Fire Protection following citation from the agency for his ‘significant contributions to the development of the BFP’.

Dagadag received the award during the 32nd BFP Anniversary celebration at Newtown Plaza Hotel in Baguio City on August 15.

Other public officials in the Cordillera who got the same recognition include Governor James Edduba, Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas, Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda, Tuba Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan, Luna Mayor Josephine Bangsil, and Flora Mayor Rodolfo Juan.

In a statement, Mayor Dagadag emphasized that the Local Government Unit of Tanudan is in full support to the bureau whose job is not only focused on preventing fire and responding to incidents and emergencies, but they also attend to other concerns of the people.

“Saan lang nga agresponde ti puur ti trabaho da, isuda ket amin nga disaster kada emergency. Nu adda aksidente, isu da iti umay tumulong nga kadwa dagiti MDRRMO tayo,” he said.

For this reason, he wants that the BFP Tanudan is fully-equipped which is why he kept on following up the fire truck requested by the municipality. Just this August, the mayor personally visited the Office of Fire Chief Louie Puracan where the latter committed to granting the town’s request by October.

While the BFP Tanudan’s building is yet to be erected at Sitio Banagao, Poblacion, the fire personnel are currently occupying the Evacuation Center at Seet, Mabaca.
