Mayor Dagadag reminds public importance of peace and unity in progress amid tribal conflicts in Kalinga

Tanudan, Kalinga – Tanudan is one of the fastest-growing towns in Kalinga over the past years with more infrastructure, roads, and projects coming into the municipality, and it owes it to the peace and order in the municipality.

Recently, the province has been faced with tribal conflicts in Tabuk and in Pasil, which forced many to stay in their tribal territories until the dispute is resolved. This affects schooling and even work since members of warring tribes need to find safety as they could be the subject of revenge.

While Tanudan aims for continuous progress, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag emphasizes the role of peace and unity in this pursuit during his talk on July 26 in Taloctoc where he was invited as one of the speakers of the barangay’s festival.

One of the points he mentioned in his message is how doing illicit activities that disrupt peace and order in the tribe slows down the development of a municipality and negatively affects the future of the younger generation who will be the next nation builders.

“Isu nga importante ti peace and unity ti progress kasi makita tayo ti ili or tribe nga agar-aramid ti kinadakes ket awan tiprogreso ken awan unay professionals da gapu ta mabuteng dagiti annak nga aguskwela,” he stressed.

He then enjoined the people to uphold harmonious relationships with their fellow yTanudans and with every other people in the province, adding this is one of the ways to honor the ancestors who sacrificed their lives in order to give the next generation a better and progressive town to live in.
