Mayor Dagadag seeks opening of Lubo-Dacalan Road

Tanudan, Kalinga – With the aim of providing a better accessible road for the community, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag has proposed the opening of Lubo-Dacalan Road that would complete the national road connecting Tanudan and Barlig of Mt. Province.


On September 10, 2022, Mayor Dagadag paid a courtesy visit to the Office of Congressman Allen Jesse Capuyan Mangaoang to request fund for the said road opening.


In an interview, Dagadag relayed that the road opening is under the program of Tabuk-Banaue via Barlig-Tanudan road, which is currently under construction. With this, the mayor proposed to Congressman Mangaoang that a road be made available from Ga-ang, Dacalan to Barlig.

“Tatta ti kayat ko nga apan intungtung diyay diretso lang nga mapan Ga-ang to Dacalan ta dayta ti mapanan na daytoy nga kalsada,” he said.


However, with the opening of the said road, Dagadag stated they have to consider affected agricultural land and discuss with land owners if they want part of their property to be used in opening a national road.


“Ma-open diyay tapno makita nu sino ti agriri, makita nu sino ti makindaga idyay nga mabalin makatungtung nu kayat da ba nga makalsadaan ti dagdaga da, ta isu diyay ti pagnaan daytoy National Road nga mapan Ga-ang tapos diretso Barlig,” Dagadag added.

In relation to this, during his visit, Dagadag revealed that Cong. Mangaoang allotted 180 million for the continuation of the development of the national road project that connects Tanudan, Barlig and Banaue road.


As recalled, Dagadag sought funds for the improvement of Tabuk-Allubaggan Tanudan road and Liyang, Pangol bridge with the goal to provide quality access roads and at the same time alleviate the lives of the people of Tanudan.
