Mayor Gumilab commends LGU employees for Tinglayan’s Good Financial Housekeeping Award

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Mayor Sacrament Gumilab commended the workforce of Tinglayan LGU following the recent award they received from the DILG which is the Good Financial Housekeeping Award.

In an interview, Gumilab said, “if the people believe in their leaders and help their leaders, change can happen. Adda nagbaliwan ti Tinglayan ta namati da nga kaya tayo nga baliwan ti lugar. Gapu iti daytoy pammati da ken panagtrabaho da, adda ti makita nga nasayaat nga mapaspasamak iti ili ti Tinglayan.”

Gumilab added that the harmonious working relationship and collaboration of the Municipal Local Government Unit of Tinglayan in ensuring good financial management helped much in earning them the latest Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) award.

Tinglayan is one of the LGUs in Kalinga which was recently named by the Department of the Interior and Local Government as one of the 2024 SGFH passers.

The Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping is a citation being conferred to local governments who complied with accounting and auditing standards, rules, and regulations. This award manifests the complete and transparent management of public funds.

In a statement, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab emphasized the need to work hard and for all government workers to their part and to be one in purpose to serve the people better.

“Gapu iti panagmaymaysa da naala tayo daytoy. Kailangan talaga nga agkuti amin iti tattao ken iti buo nga LGU, haan nga kaya iti maymaysa. Haan lang nga diay local finance committee, amin ket aggaraw kasi interconnected amin dagita nga operations,” he said.

Joining Tinglayan with the 2024 SGFH citation is the Province of Kalinga, Balbalan, Pasil, Pinukpuk, Rizal, Tabuk City, and Tanudan.
