Tinglayan, Kalinga – After getting the opportunity to continue another term as the local chief executive of Tinglayan, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab vowed to continue the programs and projects his administration started with the tagline, ‘Tongrayan umunno-unnoy’ or the development of Tinglayan.
Gumilab won over his contender Vice-Mayor Charles Abay for the mayoralty race, after the former earned the majority’s vote with 5,796. Abay on the other hand received 4,459 votes.
In an interview with GURU Press Cordillera, Gumilab expressed gratitude to his supporters and all yTongrayans for believing in his advocacy – the development of Tinglayan. He assured that the support they have shown will serve as his inspiration to give his utmost service especially that this is his last term to serve them as local chief executive.

Inan-anusan da piman ti makirikrikus kinyak karkaru dagituy senior citizens nga ummay tummultulung ket dagidiay nga tulong yu ket isu ti inspirasyon ko tapnu maipaay ko iti napintas ken maymayat manen nga serbisyo kadagiti agkailangan nga kakailyan tayo,” he uttered.
Gumilab highlighted that he wanted to do all means to implement all the on-going programs and projects from infrastructure to social services for the municipality to realize their vision of a developed municipality coined with the tagline “Tongrayan umunno-unnoy”.
“Daytoy gamin a Tongrayan umunno-unnoy ket nangatu nga standard, kasla nga invisible standard nga embedded iti puso ken panunut tayo a dapat maalan ti Tinglayan ket kailangan tayo aramiden amin nga means. Kayat ko nga haan a mapaay dagitoy kailyan tayo ket dagitoy a tattao nga haan a mamati ket kayat ko a mamati da isu nga aramiden tayo ti amin tapnu maamiris da nga agpaysu daytoy ibagbaga tayo a sumayaatan ti Tinglayan,” he said.
Some projects specified to be continued by the mayor are the ‘Ag-agabur nan Munisipyo nan Tongrayan’ or the municipal building, the ‘Umunnoyan’ Hospital and road projects.
Further, Gumilab stated that he will see to it that other programs which are not yet introduced in the municipality will also be prioritized so long that it will help in uplifting the lives of yTongrayans.
If able to pursue his vision of a more developed Tinglayan, he said he will not have regrets as this proved that he had given them the utmost service he wanted to give his constituents.
His Message to non-supporters
For people who are not supportive enough to his administration, Gumilab is inviting them to help the municipality and share their opinions and ideas and disregard all differences in political affiliation.
Suggestion and opinions he said are welcome so long that it will help in the betterment of the municipality.

Gumilab’s appeal to fellow winning candidates
For his fellow winning candidates in Tinglayan, Gumilab is urging them to be one with their aspiration of a more developed municipality by cooperating with the executive department and supporting programs necessary for the development of Tinglayan.
He likewise reminds them to use the chance given to them by yTongrayans to implement the platforms and advocacies they were telling people during the campaign period.
